YOU DESERVE BETTER

 Every woman dreams of Mr Right, and every man dreams of a good wife... You call it 'wife material,' but I beg to differ. It is being a good wife, a wonderful mother and a beautiful image to society. You can have all of the qualities, but still fail to be 'wife material' simply because he knows what he is looking for in a woman. Men say they like what they see, ooh yeah, the figure, skin colour, beauty, among others. Yes, they fall for 'physical features...the mountains, rivers and the green vegetation, I mean, as it is. Women, on the other hand, fall for what they hear; what she is told is enough to make her say 'YES' even when he is not worth it. That's why most women end up being with a man of sweet words rather than one with looks. But later fell for some serious mess which only tore her to pieces, unrecognisable.

You know the good thing with love is that it grows to show and bring out the true physical, emotional, spiritual and social values of a person after some time. What you see today might not be the case tomorrow. The one you think you know changes into something strange. Sorry, I use the word something to show an ambiguity in the sense of saying it. Yes, something you can't explain to yourself, family or even friends...call it a monster. In most cases, we tend to have hope in our partners, keeping in mind that some day he/she is going to change for the better, but the more you wait, the worse it gets. 

For instance, there is this family which was admired by others, stating that it was perfect, they were blessed with beautiful kids, and almost everything was done as per their plans. At one instance, the man fell ill, seriously ill, and the wife tried to reach out to doctors for help. After some time, the man was diagnosed with prostate cancer, something that left the wife hopeless, not knowing what to do. She then tried to seek help from the man's relatives, stating that her husband needed treatment and care. The family stated that they are not going to waste a dime on the dying kin. She then turned to the fiends with big cars and luxury, but all that was in vain; no one was willing to help.

The only option left was the church. The wife then turned to God for help, and after some time, help came crawling into her home, bringing back the lost hope. The church began to collect some money through harambee and online platforms, and luckily, treatment money came. The wife stuck to God, and through prayers and the church, the husband got better. During treatment, the wife could go to do casual jobs to feed the family and also make sure that the kids went to school. She worked hard to see that everything was fine and everyone was taken care of. And you could hear people murmuring 'ooh what a good wife he got'...some said, 'she is so stupid to allow herself suffer for someone's son.' Yes, they said a lot of bullshit, but love won, she had to fulfil the wedding vows...in sickness and in health. 

After getting better, the tables turned, and the man who was helpless turned into a beast. He went drinking with his friends, the same friends who never helped with medication. Misused his salary, came home late at night, always on social media till late, never cared for the kids anymore and even started abusing his wife. The wife tried to talk to him, but it seemed he had made up his mind and was never ready to change. His friends helped him abuse his wife, and his family sent hurtful messages to his wife, stating that she was not enough for their son, that she was a beggar and a stupid woman. She then turned to God and asked for help once more, and what she discovered made her lose herself even more. After some time of meditation, she decided to end it all, not because she wanted to, but because she was tired of trying, praying, and asking God to change someone who chose to be a monster. 

In today's world, many people tend to hide their faces with beautiful masks to be recognised as good and great, but inside carry monsters that only come to ruin the good intention you have for life. Before saying Yes to him, pray to God for guidance and to avoid the monsters, the devils planning to ruin the good you. You deserve better things and great people to get you up higher. If it doesn't work, run for your life because it wasn't meant to be; it was a test, and you passed. And that's enough, don't blame yourself for trying, never regret, rather, congratulate yourself for winning over your sanity. If she decides to leave, fine, and if he decides to end it, then so be it. We have to fix ourselves, stop fixing a broken rock using superglue; it will never happen.

Time heals every broken and torn heart.
